Exploring Life’s Struggles: A Journey Through

Our ATAA Book Club’s third book for the 2024-2025 year was Sevgili Arsız Ölüm by Latife Tekin, which was her first published work. The novel, released in 1983, remains widely read, loved, and debated even today, and we are delighted that it is included in our reading list. Set in a village in Anatolia, the story follows the life struggles, anxieties, endeavors toward self-realization, the emotional wounds they inflict on each other, and the vocal and silent screams of a family with five children – first in their village and later in the city after their migration. Reading the novel and discussing it deeply at our meeting was truly invaluable.

Our February book is Sufle by Asli Peker.
