Today, we celebrate the 103rd anniversary of the opening of the First Grand National Assembly on April 23, 1920, under the leadership of our great Atatürk, and the declaration of sovereignty by the Turkish people.
Atatürk gifted the 23rd of April, which was designated as a National Holiday in 1921, to children in 1929, and it was first celebrated as Children’s Day.
Turkey is the first and only country in the world to gift a holiday to its children and share this celebration with the entire world.
